Training Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with leadership & senior management of departments to understand their business and talent-related challenges (notably in sales related functions).
  • Prioritise capability development needs of their teams from assessment & recommend best-fit L&D programmes to address needs and when required, co-develop program proposal as business case for senior management approval.
  • Managing planning of learning programmes in collaboration with cross-functional teams. This includes recommendation of effective programme structure & delivery approach (e.g. blended learning, eLearning, virtual/classroom training, experiential learning & coaching, certification etc.) based on objective, participant profile, learning style & preference, resources, logistics etc.
  • Lead programme curriculum and content design incorporating practical & relevant approaches; identify, negotiate with and engage internal/external subject matter experts for inputs and support in programme delivery.
  • Manage programme deployment within agreed timeline, quality and budget parameters.
  • Build & deploy post-training assessment process/tools to measure on-going & sustained application of learning at work by participants, aligned with programme goals.
  • Contribute to development & implementation of company's L&D strategy & annual plans, with focus on knowledge & competency framework and learning continuum.
  • Stay abreast of company's business and best practices to ensure learning programmes are relevant and updated.,
  • Build competence as a designated trainer for internal training programmes by attending and being certified to train the trainer.
  • Mentor junior L&D department colleagues.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor in Business, Human Resources, Psychology with advanced education and certification e.g. Masters or ACTA etc.
  • 10-12 years of industry experience, preferably in Hi-Tech, IT Outsourcing/managed services
  • 5-6 years in a training role with proven track-record in instructional design & delivery of training in classroom and other environments
  • Experienced in design and implementation of learning programmes aligned with knowledge & competency framework & related learning maps/continuum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage, collaborate and influence stakeholders across organisation levels
  • Effective project & change management skills with ability to work independently and in virtual teams, manage multiple priorities and able to consistently deliver within tight deadlines and budgets
  • Ability to travel to different offices within Asia Pacific region when required to deliver training
  • Proven track record in consultative sales/account management roles and have personally managed business to business solution sales deals. Experience in sales management and coaching would be an advantage.
