Forklift Safety Course
Forklift Safety Training course is one of the courses mandated by Ministry of Manpower for forklift operations. You will need to find training providers who are approved by Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to acquire a forklift license and so that you can become a forklift operator.
Course Title
WSQ Operate Forklift (With Class 3 license)
So there is a difference - Some training providers will advise you that if you have a Class 3 License when you take the Forklift Safety Course you will have lesser hours and if you dont have a class 3 driving license you will take a longer course
Forklift Safety Training Course Objectives
At the end of the course, learners shall be able to:
Identify, explain and apply the relevant Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) legislations / Singapore Standards SS573 (Approved Code of Practice 101 formerly) applicable to Forklift operation.
Identify and explain the various roles of each stakeholder, and their responsibilities in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all.
Carry out forklift operator’s pre-operational preparation duty in accordance with WSH regulations, SS 573 industrial standard and organisational SOP
Perform inspection of forklift and its major components prior to commencement of work
Carry out forklift operations
Reinstate and hand over forklift at the end of duty.

Certification validity – Life time. MOM recommends the participants to attend Forklift refresher training course every 3 years.
Entry Requirements for Forklift Safety Training Course
Learners must possess a valid class 3 driving license issued by Singapore LTA or Malaysia government (for Malaysians)
Learners must be physically fit and in good health, not subject to deafness, defective sight or other infirmity which would render him unfit to perform forklift operation safely
Learners must be above 18 years of age
Assumed Skills and Knowledge
Learners are assumed to be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS)
Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 3 and above or equivalent
Learners are assumed to be able to interpret work instructions and technical information
Learners are assumed to be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS level 3 and
Learners are assumed to be able to process number a proficiency level equivalent to ESS level 3
