86 year old driver arrested for causing death of 52 year old man at Aljunied

A 86 year old driver was arrested for causing the death of a 52-year-old man in a road accident at Aljunied on September 17

There were several video and images of the scene of the accident and the blue tent that were uploaded to Facebook and Tiktok

The 52 year old male pedestrian was pronounced death at the scene by SCDF.

The accident occurred near the pedestrian traffic light at the junction of Aljunied Road and Sims Avenue. Singapore Police Force SPF said they were alerted to a fatal accident involving a 52-year-old male pedestrian and a car at the junction of Aljunied Road and Sims Avenue.

The driver of the car, an 86-year-old man, was arrested at the scene for careless driving causing death. Police investigations are ongoing.
