Job Purpose:
To develop and implement the strategy for workplace health & safety across the APAC region. Provide advice and guidance to the Workplace Experience Team and senior leaders on health & safety matters.
Principle Accountabilities:
Lead and manage the regional Workplace Health & Safety Team.
Expected to take a regional lead on health & safety projects and initiatives providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues and AVEVA leadership locally and regionally and providing coordinated advice globally in conjunction with other members of the Workplace Experience Team.
Engage across the region with the Workplace Experience Team, HR, IT, Location Leads etc to drive a positive safety culture.
Support with emergency planning and take a lead in responding to emergenices
Continually review internal policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date with the lates regulatory requirements relevant to the region and countries therein.
Lead and guide the team in the investigation of all Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) incidents or accidents and ensure the required reords are completed and stored. Ensure lessons learned are captured, communicated and HSE system updated as required.
Prepare and chair WHS Committee Meetings in line with requirements and/or attend Works Council Meetings or similar.
Work with the Global Travel Team, Business Continuity Manager and Physical Security Team to assess and manage travel related risk.
Prepare and deliver internal and third-party audit requirements. Provide data for external tenders and bids.
Manage third party/supplier relationships.
Working with global colleagues across Real Estate & Workplace Experience and specifically other Regional Workplace Health & Safety Managers design and implement a coordinated global WHS training programme including the development of a WHS induction to ensure AVEVA provides a safe place to work for colleagues and visitors.
Coordinate local and as needed regional workplace health and safety training and awareness courses and information for colleagues – including fire warden, first aid training and rota management
Communicate with regulatory offices as required and ensure all AVEVA locations are complient with local requirements.
Contininly looking for improvements to AVEVA’s WHS offering.
Act as the competent person for the region.
Carries out site inspections, risk assessments, accident investigation, hazard identification and as needed provides escalation route for major incidents or concerns
Works with Regional Head of Workplace Experience and other department/function leadership to identify, manage and reduce and workplace related risks and hazards
Support Occupational Health provision working closely with HR colleagues ensuring all health surveillance requirements are met
Develop, in conjunction with other Regional Workplace Health & Safety Managers and other members of the Real Estate & Workplce Experience team, effective tools, process and policies to manage AVEVA’s duty of care for colleagues working from home – either as remote based employees or under Dynamic Work programme
Work with colleagues in People Team (HR and Employee Communications) to collate data and reporting as needed in relation to AVEVA workplace health and safety metrics and data reporting in compliance with OSHA or other (e.g., Schneider Electric) reporting requirements
Essential Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Looking for minimum 7+ years of work experience from relevant industry
Proven experience in large global organisation
Proven leadership and management experience within a matrix, multi-site role able to communication and engage with a wide range of stakeholders
Strong technical knowledge
NEBOSH, NCRQ Diploma or an equivalent with membership of IOSH or other relevant professional body
Self-motivating and able to work as part of a team
Ability to manage and deliver tasks relating to multiple sites
Good knowledge of basic PC skills – email, Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Strong oral and written communication skills
Good administrational and reporting skills
Able to interpret health & safety legislation, policy and best practice and implement as needed within AVEVA
Excellent Customer Relationship management skills
Able to lead a virtual team and obtain support from Workplace Managers to use site resources.
Knowledge of dealing with ergonomics and workplace health and safety
Regional workplace health and safety knowledge and experience across multiple countries
